AIRCRAFT DAMAGED
(Press Assn) AVELLINGTON, Apr. 29. Severe damage was caused to an Oxford training aircraft when it crashed at Rongotai yesterday afternoon, hut the pilot, Leading Aircraftsman J. J. Fox, who was the only occupant, was not injured. The pilot was on a routine flight from Oliakea to Blenheim when he wa6 compelled to land at Rongotai owing to the weather making it unsafe to cross to the South Island. In doing so he overshot the aerodrome. He crashed through the boundary fence and the machine overturned.
