According to messages from Ottawa six officers and 34 ratings were lost when the British armed merchant cruiser Rajputana was torpedoed, says a Britisli Official • Wireless message. The ship was struck twice and sank within four and a half hours. A tribute to tlie high morale of the crew was paid by the senior officer when the survivors were landed in Canada.
