AIR CASUALTIES

FORMER PALMERSTONIAN. (Press Assn.) WELLINGTON, April 29 The following Air Force casualties were announced to-day: Sergeant Frederick Simpson Hobden, R'N.Z.A.F., killed in a flying accident. Mother: Mrs Hobden, Hare- ' field, Sussex. Sergeant Hobden was born in Sussex in 1912. In New Zealand he studied at Masscy College for a period and at the time of his enlistment he was engaged in farming at Matamata. . Flying Officer Edward Lamb, previously reported. missing believed killed, now confirmed killed during air operations. Uncle: Mr W. B. Reid. Ponsonby. Flying-Officer Lamb was born at Auckland in 1917 and was well-known in Wellington as a iormer secretary of the Swifts lootball Club.
