YOUTHS FOR AIR FORCE

TRAINING IN AUSTRALIA. (Lee. 12.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 29. To ensure a regular (low of young men into the R.A.A.F. plans have been approved by the Air Board tor the establishment of an Air Cadet Corps for youths aged 16 to 18. Organised into squadrons, the corps will operate in the city and country areas, and in the schools. The cadets will receive only ground instruction. It is expected that about 70,000 youths will join the corps. The Minister of Munitions (Senator Mcßride) lias announced that the output has begun of 21b anti-tank guns, made entirely within Australia. Production, he said, would be speeded up to the high level required to equip the anti-tank units at home and overseas. The new gun was the famous British weapon which had done deadly work against the Germans and Italians.
