Mayfair Theatre.—l Tailed as one of the truly great motion pictures of all time, Barry 1 V. Zanuck's production of "The Rains Came," the sensationally successful novel by Louis Bromficlcl, shews to-day at the Mayfair Theatre, with Myrna Loy, Tyrone Power and George Brent sharing stellar honours. 'This powerful story of human emotions at the breaking point, nucl human lives at the climax, while the untamed forces of nature ravaged the earth, has been faithfully retold in this 20th Cen-tury-Fox film, in which all of Bromfiold's colourful characters arc brought to life. Myrna Loy is seen a-s the amorous Lady Esketli, Tyrone Power has his most, romantic role as Major Rama Safti, and George Brent plays the world-weary Tom Ransomc. Bronda Joyce, star-maker Zanuck's newest discovery, interprets tho role of young Fern Simon.
State Theatre. —Darrvl F. Zanuck's production of "Brighani Young," by Louis -Bromfield, is one of the most stirring films ever to come from Hollywood. Tyrone Power is starred. Linda Darnell and Dean J agger, as Brighani Young, head a brilliant featured cast. Magnificent in scope and spectacularly filmed, the picture tells the epic story of the Mormons and their courageous 1300-mile trek from Nauvoo, 111., lo Great Salt Lake in 1846. When Brighani Young realises tho Mormons must escape from the, intolerance and persecution that has besought them at Nauvoo, one of the greatest mass migra-' tion in history begins; 20,000 people go on the march across endless miles of trackless wasteland, until their search for freedom ends at what in now Salt Lake City.
