HOME GUARD

PHYSICAL CULTURE. The training of the Home Guard in Feilding entered a now phase on Saturday afternoon when the trainees were given exercises in. physical culture in the form of games. These proved interesting and were much appreciated. Unfortunately the attendance was poor. Platoon-Commander C. V. Jewed had the misfortune to break a rib. A special general parade of all units in the Feilding Sub-Area of the Home Guard, which include the Feilding Battalion, has been arranged for Saturday afternoon next at 1 o'clock at the racecourse. This parade is a further step in the training of the sub-area command and it is essential that all guardsmen who ha,ve been posted as militarily lit should attend. Guardsmen will fall in by units under their respective unit commanders at the racecourse in readiness to march on to the parade ground for brigade manoeuvres. Unit commanders will receive information as to the order of the para.de and the movements to be carried out. For the purpose of this parade the country units have been drafted into battalion'! and tentative appointments have been ma'do of battalion commanders for this purpose. The object ol the parade is to complete the sub-area organisation and the parade is therefore to bo considered as one of importance.
