NEGLIGENCE CLAIMED

Per Press Association AUCKLAND, March 23 A resolution stating that those present would cease to patrol the Onehunga business area until the Auckland city black-out was made more effective was carried at a meeting of wardens and workers under the Emergency Precautions Scheme in the area. Lt was stated after the meeting that a team of workers had reported increasing difficulty in dealing with householders who complained that shops and Government departments in tlfe city had made little or no attempt to comply with the regulations. An assurance that Government departments must conform to the lighting restrictions in the Emergency I Regulations has been received from the Prime Minister (Rt. Hon. P. 1 Fraser) by the Mayor (Sir Ernest Davis), in his capacity as chief warden for the metror/olitan area of Auckland.
