RUGBY REFEREES.
"It is my special appeal to all members, past and present, that they let bygones be bygones and como together in full dtrnngtn again to enable us to carry out our part in keeping Rugby going. It must be obvious to everyone that the difficulties confronting' the Rugby world, as the result of the successive and numerous withdrawals of men of militury age from the community, will become progressively worse. We owe it to the thousands of Rugby players who arc absent in the various Army services to join together in good spirit with the clubs and the Rugby Union and make every effort to keep Rugby going on tho best possible basis under the circumstances. In making this appeal I feel confident that members past and present, will not bo found lacking in accepting their responsibilities." Thus states the annual report of the preBident (Mr C. Eglinton) of the Manawatu Rugby Referees' Association. The report refers to tho difference which arose with the management committee of the Rugby Union, last year, and the reorganisation of the association. The financial statement shows a small credit balance.
