GENERAL NEWS.

Savage Club. Members and intending members of the Feilding Savage Club are reminded that the annual meeting of the club is to be held on Monday. March 31, at 8 p.m. in the Drill Hall supper room. Athletics and Cycling. Handicaps for the sports to-morrow evening are the same as those published last week. Home Guard.

There were approximately 150 members of the Home Guard present at the battalion parade held on the .racecourse on Saturday, when Kegimental-Serge-ant-Mn.jor Z. McLec-d expressed himself pleased with their efficiency and the manlier in which the men marched. There had been a substantial improvement in the deportment of the men. ■Company drill was conducted, after which field exercises were carried out. Boy Scouts.

The parade of the Ist Feilding Troop of Boy Scouts was opened on Saturday evening with Hag-break and prayers. The troop proceeded to the Manchester Street School grounds where games were played. On returning to the hall, inspection was held and points (out or 20) were awarded, the results being:—Tui Patrol, Kea, Kiwi, Wood-pigeon each 18, Bellbird and Seagull each 10. Patrol-leaders took over for general instruction and "Hum" conducted a revision test. Marks again were the best out of 20: Tui, Kea each'2o, Kiwi 18, Bellbird 16, Wood-pigeon 14, Seagull 10. Half an. hour was devoted to indoor tracking and games. Just prior to "Retreat," an investiture ceremony was held at which Winton Fuunell received his tenderfoot badge. The parade was brought to a close with the reaffirmation of the Scout Promise and "Retreat," and tho weekly court of honour was held.
