ST. JOHN AMBULANCE.

Following the inspection at the recent parade of the St. John Ambulance Cadets an examination in both theory and practical work was held. The boy's were first broken oft' and Corporal Zimmerman, of the senior division, gave a practical demonstration of the Thomas splint. As required, the cadets retired to a separate room, where the acting-ambulance officer (Mr Sebelin) 1 conducted a test in the theory of first! ■aid, and Sergeant Bennetto a test in| the practical work. After the test, Mr Sebelin gave the marks earned, and pointed out that, at.present, the practical work is better than the theory, but it is hoped to equalise them soon.
