MANAWATU ASSOCIATION. INTER-CLUB MATCHES. The light was failing when Saturday's matches in the Manawatu Cricket Association's inter-club competitions ended. The performances in the senior A grade did not compare with those in the senior B or junior divisions in. cither batting or bowling. City drew with Palmerston in the senior A division, City making 150 runs for 7 wickets, declared, and Palmerston having 3 wickets down for 20 when play closed. Old Boys made 154 for 7 wickets (declared) against Kia Toa and the latter, with only eight men, were all out for 58, then making 64 for one wicket in a follow on. Old- Boys won on the first innings. At the High School the homo team and United played a drawn match. In the senior A grade Peck (Old Boys) made 54. Williams (Old Boys) took 4 for 33 and Adcock (Old Boys) 3 for 18. Of the senior B grade players Lo Chcniinant (United) made 80 and Clifford (Marist) 54. O'Connoll (Marist) secured 5 wickets for 11 and 3 for 12, and Gillespie (Marist) 5 for 2. In the junior, Dalton (High School) made 66 and Weston, junr. (City) 92. The best bowling' was by Dilks (United), 8 for 15; Potbury ("Kia Toa), 5 for 17; Rico (Optimists), 5 for 18; and Matson (Kia Toa), 4 for 17.
