GROWING WAR EFFORT.

CANADA'S PLANS FOR 1941

In connection with the speeding up of Canada’s war effort it is announced that Canada, intends to attain the following objectives in 1941: Provision of 25 Canadian air squadrons for service overseas from among the graduates of the British Commonwealth training plan. Doubling of the present strength of 36,000 men in the air training plan, and strengthening of home operations. An increase m the Canadian Navy to" 413 ships, and 26,920 men by February'2B, 1942, compared with the present'strength of 175 ships and 15,319 men. Building of destroyers and longrange bombers and concentration on producing machines that -are not obtainable in the United States. Also the following Canadian forces will proceed overseas this year: third Canadian division, now in training in Canada, with the balance nf the corps of troops of the Canadian first and second divisions now training in England, a tank brigade, and an armoured division.
