The New Zealand centennial draunghts championship tournament at Christchurch concluded yesterday, the new champion being J. Gardiner, Nelson, who, with a total -of 20 points,' was two ahead of the runner-up, G. A. Brown. The new champion won the title previously in 1903, 1903,' 1914 and 1928. Brown has been champion on six previous occasions. The handicap tournament was won by W. Davis, Wellington, the runners-up being .1. Gilliooly and L l ’. W. Graham, Dannevirke.
