SERVICE CLUB AT BULLS.

At a meeting of the Zone F Patriotic Committee in Feilding on Thursday, Mr H. V. Bond (president" of the Bulls U.S.A.) outlined proposals to establish a service club at Bulls for the soldiers in that district, including the trainees of the Ohnkea Air Station. The Bulls Patriotic Committee and the R.S.A. had interested themselves in the project and , already a suitable building had been rented and the R.S.A. had already expended £2O in preparing it for use. The club could conic under the jurisdiction of the Zone Patriotic Committee, if desired, but in any case it was the intention of the R.S.A. to go ahead with the establishment of the club. A sum ■of £247 was required for furnishing, and the assistance of the Zone Committee was solicited to enable a grant to be made from provincial funds. It was hoped to make the club self-support-ing. The need for such a club was emphasised. Bulls was less than two miles from the Air Station and the club would be made use of very freely. Mr A. K. Drew supported the proposal and paid a tribute to the work of the R.S.A- in making the preliminarv arrangements.

Mr 0. J. Fitzpatrick said that in all probability some of the Feilding residents would be able to visit the club and entertain the men at intervals.

It was decided to recommend to the Provincial Patriotic Council that a grant be made.
