AUCKLAND APPEALS,
Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Oct. 24. Appeals affecting 132 reservists have so far been considered by the Auckland Area Man-Power Committee and only 19 fit men of this total have for the time being been excused from military service on the ground Of public interest. One was the case of a man who had not resided in the Dominion for a period of 12 months and did not intend making his home here. Another was a married man with two children who was wrongly included in the first division. Fifty-seven cases were struck out or dismissed, subject in some eases to a short temporary suspension to enable the completion ot examinations. Only in 19 instances have adjournments sine die been allowed. They include eight policemen, two seamen, and several key men on the railway operating staff. The appeals received include 41 on the grounds of conscientious objection. Several are willing to serve' in noncombatant capacities.
