HOSPITAL AUXILIARY.
Mrs M. Aitcliison presided over the j monthly meeting of the Palmerston ! North Hospital Women’s Auxiliary j yesterday afternoon. Also present were ! Mesd.vnes J. Stone, W. Mouldey, F. i Bennett, H. Fry, Miss E. Clark and the secretary (Mrs S. J. Parlies). Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames A. E. Mansford, F. J. | Nathan, E. L. Christian, W. H. Rich-! ardson, J. Barsanti, T. Saunders, and Miss L. M. Banks. An invitation was j received from the Manawatu branch of j the Registered Nurses’. Association ■ for members to attend the annual din- 1 ner. A donation was received from the trustee of the former District Nursing 1 Committee of £6O for the auxiliary . work and £4O for the chapel fund. ; The president' reported that the mat- j ron of the Hospital had. asked that j two papers be supplied to the isolation ! ward and she had arranged for one ! daily and one weekly paper to be dcliv- : cred. Her action was endorsed by the members. Mrs Aitcbison also reported that the Hospital Board had given four chairs to the Awapum Home 111 ,addition to the one given by the aux- ! iliary. Nevertheless, there was still a shortage of chairs and she proposed that another be given. Miss Clark remarked that there were to be 16 more inmates admitted to the. home, and the number of chairs would still be inadequate. Mrs Aitcliison also proposed that a tea wagon be given as there was only one at the borne, these two proposals were seconded by Miss Clark and carried unanimously. Miss , Clark and Mrs Bennett reported on j tho progress of the sewing work. *
