HOME GUARD.

ORGANISER’S VISIT

Delegates from * local bodies in the Manawatu area yesterday met Mr It. Sinel, of Wellington, organiser of the Home Guard, at a conference in Palmerston North, and the general outline of the organisation was discussed. Major-General R. Young, the Commanding Officer of the Home Guard, was unable to be present. As the outcome of yesterday’s deliberations, a further meeting of local body representatives is to be called to appoint a committee to control the promotion of the guard in this area, from which point the establishment of the guard in its various units will be proceeded with.
