JAPANESE IN AUSTRALIA.
(Roc. 9.5 a.m.) SYDNEY, Oc-t. 2. The Japanese Consul-General hero (Mr M. Akiyama'i stated last night there is hot the slightest intention of evacuating any of the 1500 Japanese in Australia; rather would there l>e a tendency for more Japanese to come to do business. Indeed, Japan desired closer relations, riot only with Australia. but with the United States and Canada.
