Basketball. ■ . The final games of the Feilding basket ball competition have been placed. Girls A have not been beaten during the season, and eo win from the High , the'Hunt Cup. Cobbo’s and High School share the next position on 'adder, each team having two losses. The point are- Old Girls A, 30; Cobbe s 245, High School 24; Swifts, 14; Toas, 14; Old Girls B 8; St. Brigid’s, 2. The season will close on Saturday, when a mixed tournament will be held on the High School courts.

Birthday Party. 'the 13th birthday party of, the Feilding branch of the W.D.F.U. will be held m the Oddfellows’ Hall on Triday at 1.30 p.m. Members and friends are invited, and the former arc asked to bring a p-ate. Address On India.

Mr John Tobeck, oi the staff of the N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Coy,, Ltd., has retired after some years of faithful service, and the opportunity was taken last evening to make him a presentation. The general manager (Mr W. Coulson Fowjer), in making the presentation of an easy chair, referred to the good service rendered by Mr Tobeck and to his sterling qualities, Messrs A. C. Buist, V. Lawrence and W.- J. Thorburn also spoke in glowing terms of the services of Mr Tobeck. Golf.

On Saturday next a four-ball best ball bogey scramble will be played by the Golf Club, members to choose their partners and opponents. This competition, takes the place of the. medal contest.
