The Foxton Racing Club will pay the following taxation in connection with its meeting :—Totalisator tax, £1617 16s 6d; dividend tax, £933 18s: stakes tax, £lO 12s; amusement tax, £3l 17s 9d; total, £2044 4s 3d. "Vertongen, representatives of the Woolpaek and Textile Union, visited Wellington on Monday for the purpose of waiting on tho Alinister of Labour (lion. P. Webb) in reference to full-time'employment for all fiaxworkers. Al a shop day held by the Dental Clinic Committee the sum of £3B 13s lOd was raised . Sister M. Little, district nurse, who has been absent on sick leave, has resumed duty. Constable A. J. Goodwin, of Palmerston North, commenced duty hero on Saturday. Mrs J. Archbold, of Wellington, is spending a holiday, with Air and Airs S. Ncivth, of Avenue Road.. Air and Mrs Quarterman, of Danncvirkc, arc tho guests of,Air and Airs 11. Hussey, of Coley Street.

Air and Airs W. J. Ross, of To Puke, are visiting Air and Airs D. R. Ongley, of Purcell Street.

On a holiday visit to Foxton arc Air and Airs T. E. Crawford, of Wellington, and they are the guests of Airs Crawford’s parents. Air and Mrs R. J. Coley', of Jcnks Street. Alessrs 11. Coley (life member) and G. .Hughes, two of the oldest members, wore present at the'Foxton Racing Chib’s spring meeting on Saturday. Air Hughes has not missed a meeting for the past 64 years, while Air Coley has also attended over a long period.
