The United States Rubber Company announced recently that after three years of experiment it has produced an armour-plate for aeroplanes composed of rubber and steel, which lias a greater resistance to bullet-penetra-tion than steel armourplate of 20 per cent, greater weight. The company also stated that it was ready to produce this new armour-plate in quantity if steel plate were provided in adequate supply.
