KELVIN GROVE.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) KELVIN GROVE, Aug. 21. Members of the Kelvin Grove Institute enjoyed a pleasant...afternoon when they held their monthly meeting. Mrs C. Shepherd presided. It has boon decided to send parcels to the soldiers of this district, or to the relatives or friends' of institute members. The fortnightly euchre tournaments in aid of the refugee and soldier funds liavo been a great success. Apologies. for absence were sent by Mesdames Kennsington, Lewis, 'and Mercer. Mrs Fafcita, a member of the institute, gave a most interesting demonstration ; on ' crochet work, the making of cushions, coat-hangers, etc. The hostesses,.'Mesdames Rees and Sqllit, provided a dainty tea. The August compcti-' tion, an article made from something old' .and to bo donated to the refugees, was -won by Sirs Anderson with -Mrs 'Callahan second and Mrs Grayson .third. Tho’ best bloom in tho garden was won by’ Airs Callahan: Mrs, Mabcy . was second. The.coinpetition for the next /month is for a .cushion cover, the .cost not to be more than 2s. Mesdames Radomski and Tozer will be the hostesses. ...
