(an advisory member), were also present. The chairman reported that very little progress had been made with the treeplanting scheme. Only native and ornamental trees were required for the site on Mt. Stewart. He also reported that a debate had been held with the Wcstmerc branch, Bulls being the winners, but subsequently Marlon had defeated Bulls. It was decided to forward a remit to the district committee, pointing out the necessity of obtaining qualified adjudicators for debating competitions, from the point of view of uniformity and educational value in debating. Instructive films were shown by Mr Cameron, of Palmerston North. The many and varied films were fully appreciated, and a hearty vote of thanks was carried.
