EXTRACTS FROM “STANDARD.” AUGUST 21, 1910. Three men hi<i_pntercd the Levin Hotel and broken open the safe, stealing £l6O. They were later captured at Koputaroa. A fire had brrjccn out in an ironmongery shop in Mai uorr and it was discovered that the Fire Brigade hoses had been removed from the station and the water supply tampered with. The bodies of Richard Co # -de-Lion, Ilonry 11, and a number of other Plantagenets had been discovered in the Abbey of Fontevrault in Normandy. Henry had died in Franco while fighting in 1189 and Richard died in battle in 1199
