Chemists know 258.000 organic compounds which may contain drugs useful for healing the body or relieving pain, and they have not yet had time to investigate their possibilities. About twenty new' compounds are discovered everv day. Private William John lliff, of the Dorset Regiment, now in his fourth month of training, claims to be the smallest man in the Army. He is 411 BJin in height; 21 years old and weighs between seven and, eight stone.
