Tributes to the work of Mr P. 11. Hall for education in Marlon were paid at a farewell social given to him and. to Mrs Hall by early ex-pupils' and friends, to mark his retirement after, having served lor 18 years as senior secondary assistant at tlio‘Marten District High School Among those present were members of the school committee and Messrs I. A. Hempleman (formerly headmaster of the' Marton June-, tion School) and F Zabites (formerly headmaster of the Kurakina .School). ivJr Fletcher, a member of the School Commit-* tec for 21 years/ arid a member, of the committee in office' when Mr Hall joined the staff, presided. Mr R. L. Oil I, after tiio chairman’s opening remarks, read letters from Messrs H. L. Wilson, If. J. Fowler, T. Low, G. M. Abraham and A. M. Goldsbury, who were formerly members of either (lie school committee or the staff. Messrs Hempleman, A. Strawbridgo and H. F.
