PRELIMINARY SITTING. IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Aug. 5. A preliminary meeting of the Aliens Tribunal was held to-day after the arrival of the chairman (Mr Justice Callan) from Auckland. It is the duty of the tribunal to inquire into tlie bona lidos of all enemy aliens and advise the Minister of Justice as to who should be interned, and what conditions should be imposed. Sittings at the. various centres are expected to occupy 6ome months.
