DECISIA'E WIN FOR FEILDING. Feilding had a decisive win over Kia Toa at Johnston Park, tho game being played in perfect weather. The teams were: —- Kia Top. Carr. Fitt, Leader, Thomas, AVasley, AYhitcombc, Nicholson, AVilliams, Barnao. Davies, Jefferies. Coley, McDonald, Speedy.
Feilding." Pollard, Thompson, Greathead, McFarland, Rush, Dernier, Goffe, Anderson, Kitchen. Scott, Miles, Lawton, Garlick, Pye, AVilson. The ball was set in motion by the visitors, who followed up their initial advantage and Fitt pressed on to score a trv which Carr failed to convert. Feilding retaliated when their forwards got into action and Garlick penetrated wide out, to score. Dermer s kick failed. Loose play was seen from this stage onward almost till the first spell ended with Feilding not making the best of the opportunities which came their way. Miles scored, however, in the far corner, and Garlick succeeded with a. penalty kick when Barnao was penalised for being offside. . In the second half Feilding were penalised and a beautiful shot hv Carr succeeded, Feilding were still the aggressors and from a scrum in Kia Toa s inner territory Wilson snapped up the ball and ran "practically unopposed to touch down. Again Rentier's kick was unsuccessful. Kia Toa were unable to get out of their own territory. Carr failed to clear the hall and was tumbled, AVilson coming up fast to scramble over for another try. The kick by Dermer failed. AA ith a. lead ol 11 points Feilding could not go wrong, and the next trv came again from AVilson, who with Goffe got away and brushed aside opposition _ to touch down, The movement was initiated by Goffe. Garlick’s shot, failed. Carr fumbled the ball and Miles, who attacked, grabbed it to run on without a check and score. He also added the extra points. Pressure was maintained by Feilding and when the ball came in from a line-oufc Dormer cut throu-Eh. for yet another try. Miles s kick missed Just before the game ended Kia Toa advanced and AVilliams broke through tn score. Carr’s kick succeeded. The final scores were: Feilding 28, Kia Toa 11. Mr AY. Gleesoii controlled the game.
