JAPANESE IN BRITAIN. Received August 5, 10.20 n.m. LONDON, Aug. 4. Two more Japanese have been detained. They are Mr Tnyayuki Eguchi, an employee of the Bank of Formosa, and Mrs Millcy Yoshii, the German-born wife of a Japanese painter. It is learned that the arrests concerned purely routine matters and were made three weeks ago. The Japanese Embassy has received a cablegram dated July 30 announcing the release of Messrs Sandford, E. W. James, and Rich. It is learned that the Japanese Embassy twice approached the Foreign Office during the week-end and requested the release of Messrs Makibara and Tanabe, the Japanese armament firm representatives. Lord Halifax’s answer has been sent to Tokio. . The Daily Telegraph says deportation orders have been issued against Mr Eguchi and Mrs Yoslii.
