GERMAN CLAIMS.
ATTACKS ON BRITAIN. Received August 5, 12.35 p.m. BERLIN, Aug. 4. A commuirque states: “The air force last night bombed an oil port near Liverpool and started numerous fires. They attacked anti-aircraft posts near Canvcy Island (in tho mouth of the Thames) and Swansea, and reconnoitred between the Channel and the Hebrides. “British ’planes flew over NorthWest Germany and caused less damage to non-military objectives than on previous nights. ‘ although they dropped more bombs.”
