EXTRACTS FROM “STANDARD.” AUGUST 3, 1910.. Sir George Clifford was the most successful owner of racehorses during the 1909-10 season. lie beaded the list of winning owners with £7774. He was closely followed by Hon. J. D. Ormond, whoso horses won £6493. Captain R. F. Scott had arrived at Capo Town and was proceeding to Pretoria to enlist the Union Government's financial support for his expedition. Training operations for the world's sculling title match on the Zambesi River were proceeding. Both Barry and Arnst were working daily on the course. At Blackpool, Chcviz bad reached the height of 5850 feet in an aeroplane, a European record.
