NEW ZEALANDERS’ CAREERS. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Aug. 2. The following particulars have been released by the Director of Publicity regarding the latest awards to New Zealanders serving'with the Royal Air Force: — Flying-Officer Neville Williams, R.NIZ.A.F.. Distinguished Flying Cross.—Flving-Officer Williams was born at Frankton Junction 25 years ago. He was educated at the New Plymouth Boys’ High School, later lining the Western Federated Flying "Tub where he gained his A license in 1936. In 1937 lie was granted a short-service commission with the Royal New Zealand Air Force. He is now attached to the Royal jVir Force. Pilot-Officer Frederick Swirt. R.A .F., Distinguished Flying Cross. —F'ilotOfficer Swift was lxirn at Invercargill and is 23 years of age. He was educated at the Southland Technical College, where he passed his engineering examinations and then joined the Invercargill Fire Brigade, later, in 1937. being accepted . into the R.N.Z.A.F. Civil Reserve of Pilots, whore he received flying training. In 1938 lie was selected for a shortservice commission with the Royal Air Force leaving New Zealand for the United Kingdom in May of that year. He has been with the R.A.F. ever since.
