DOMINION TROOPS.
.EXERCISES AT HOME. MOCK BATTLES. (From tlie Official War Correspondent attached to the New Zealand Forces in Britain.) Received August 2, 12.23 p.m. GREAT BRITAIN, Aug. 1. The second full-scale field exercise carried out in Britain by the Second 'Echelon covered three nights and four days. It consisted of a course in which the infantry brigades “fought” each otlierin a series of day and night attacks in which the Air Force co-operated with dive-bombing and machine-gun-ning the troops’ position. Further valuable lessons were learned by the men, who are again eager for more advanced training, which is now well forward. The first steamer mail from New Zealand, despatched on June 22, was received to-day, comprising four bags. A much larger mail is expected next
