COLLECTION BY INSTALMENTS. Deceived August 2, ]1.35 a.m. SYDNEY, Aug. 2. The Sydney Morning Herald’s Brisbane correspondent says the Federal Treasurer (Mr P. C. Spender! has decided to introduce the compulsory system of collecting Federal taxation by instalments at the source on similar lines to that which has been adopted in Britain.

Mr Spender has decided to take this action to ease the burden that must fall on all classes of taxpayers as a result of the huge increases that have already been made in taxation and the others that must inevitably follow. Tt is understood the new scheme, will he introduced at the beginning of next year and that a scheme will he evolved to deduct monthly a twelfth of the estimated annual tax of the taxpayer
