SHANNON COMPANY’S REPORT. HIGHER OUTPUT. An increase of 104 tons of butter last season over the oulp.ut of the previous one is recorded in the 32nd annual report of the directors of the Shannon Dairy Company. The output last year was 1453 tons. “’The average butterfat payment for the previous season was 16.123 d,” proceeds the report. “The advance made to suppliers in the past season was 13.951 d and an extra payment of 2.625 d is being made out of the appropriation account, bringing the average payment to 16.576 d, an increase of .453 d over that of the previous season. Tile average grade was 93.989. Tho store department sales amounted to £43,614, being a decrease of £I6OO on last year's figure. A rebate of 5 per cent, on shareholders’ store accounts has been made each six months, absorbing £1092. The directors recommend payment of 5 per cent, divitdend on paid up share capital. The efficient manner in which the staff have carried out th\oir respective duties is deserving of the thanks of the shareholders.” Statistics (1938-39 season stated first and 1939-40 season second) arc:—Average payment 16.123 d, 16.576 d; number of suppliers, 309',' 303; butterfat, 2.493,2721 b, 2,669,7931 b; butter made, 3,022,1561 b, 3,254,6381 b (1349 tons and 1453 tons) ; average grade, 94.13, 93.98; over-run, 21.21, 21.90; total charges per pound butterfat to f.0.b., 1.8097 d, 1.7699 d; store sales, £45,260, £43.614. Cream grades: Finest, 85.7 per cent., 87.7 per cent.; first, 12.7 per cent., 11.7 per cent.; second, 1.6 per cent.., .6 per cent.
