OLD BOYS FOOTBALL CLUB.
ANNUAL BALL. Cheerful relaxation for a large number of people was provided at the annual ball of the Palmerston North Old Boys Football Club in the P.D Ccabaret, last evening. The scene was an animated one, there being maiiy pretty frocks, and the programme was enlivened by' hakas and songs by the Te Ante College football team, who, with their rivals of the afternoon, the Boys’ High School team, were the guests of the evening. The ranks of the Old Boys Club were noticeably depleted, as numerous members have joined the fighting forces. The hostesses present were Mesdames J. Murray, who wore black net and lace with a black velvet coat; G. H. Dawick, black taffeta, shot with blue and trimmed with tiny net frills; and J. W. Marriott, blue taffeta shot with red. Mesdames J. A. Colqiihoun. K. W. Eglinton and J. W. Rutherfurd were unable to be present. The president (Mr K. W. Eglinton) attended, other committee members present being Messrs G. 11. Dawick. J. W. Marriott, E. Barraud. A. McNejle (who M.C-) and the dance secretaries. Messrs W. 11. Simmons and W. Shannon.
