CONSIDERATION OF ESTIMATES. LOCAL BODY LEVIES. Estimates for the current year were considered at the annual meeting of the Palmerston North Hospital Board, to-day. The chairman (Mr J. A. Nash) presided. The actual consideration of the estimates was taken in committee and those, on being brought to finality, were to he confirmed by the hoard in open meeting later. While certain minor alterations might he made, a statement issued by the chairman from the annual meeting showed that the estimated expenditure for this financial year is £44,982 as against £40,191 last year, a reduction of £1209. The figures for tho contributing authorities for last year and the current respectively arc as follow __ (shillings and pence omitted) : Kiwitea County, £4179. £401!); Pohangina County, £1961, £1879; Manawatu County, £5591 £6451. (this county now containing the Rongotca Town Board, which was previously a contributory authority): Orona County, £4793, £4609; Kairanga County, £6454, £6193; Horowhcnua County, £7795, £6534; Fcilding Borough, £2356, £2308; Palmerston North City, 10.708, £10,680; Foxton Borough, £394, £390; Shannon Borough, 251, £237; Levin Borough, £l2lß, £1204; Otaki Borough, £486, £473.
