DISMISSED WORKERS.
MINISTER ANSWERS CRITICS. FULL REASONS PROMISED. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH. April 22 Full reasons for the dismissal ol the two men employed by the Public Works Department at the J-laast Pass Road will he made public within a few days. This assurance was given by the Minister of Public Works (Hon. R. Semple) to-day. . “1 have been subjected to unjust criticism for the dismissal of these two men,” said Mr Semple. “It has been stated the men were ‘sacked’ because thev dared to express a political opinion differing from my own. 1 want to tell my critics that such a statement is untrue and absurd. “Everv man in this country is entitled to” hold any political opinion lie likes, no matter how much it may differ from that of any other person. He has that right as a citizen of a free country. Those two men were dismissed for good and sufficient reasons which will be divulged publicly in the next few days.”
