RACECOURSE OFFENCES.
LA 150 UR ER TMPRI SON ED. Per Press Association. BLENHEIM, April 22. Claude Raymond Lewis, aged 2S. a labourer, although a person excluded from racecourses on account of previous convictions, fell into the hands of the police at the Marlborough meeting on Saturday- through ovcr-indulgcncc in drink. When warned by a constable to pull himself together he became violent and abusive, lit consequence lie was taken into custody and found himself faced in the Police Court this morning with three charges—drunkenness on a racecourse, trespassing on the course and obscene - language. Accused pleaded guilty to the first two charges and was convicted and discharged, but he denied use of the language alleged, and on this charge lie was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment by Justices of the Peace.
