LOCAL SALES OF BUTTER.
At the Dairy .Board's ward confer- ( cnee in Palmerston North, yesterday, ] Mr D. Stent (lor the Taihape Dairy I Company) moved the following remit: That the Government be requested to empower dairy companies to charge an additional penny per pound on all butter sold locally on credit, such additional charge to be deducted as discount from all accounts paid in fid! during the month following delivery of the butter. Mr C. H. Courtney (secretary of the Dairy Produce Board) i said it had been urged in a motion at the last Dominion con- i ference (to which this remit would i go) that the length of credit be restricted to specified limits. This, how- « ever, had not been put into effect- after enquiries had been made from the factories supplying the local markets. Mr P. B. Desmond and Mr J.
