'l’be Associated Auctioneers report: In all 1329 store sheep were penned, comprising principally breeding ewes, with four or five pens of owe lambs and odd pens of wether lambs._ There was a fair inquiry for the best quality ewes at prices on a par with last week’s saje. On the other hand, tho demand was quieter for the older owes and prices were back fully Is a head. There was a little more inquiry for owe lambs and prices were a shade firmer. Wether lambs showed no improvement in values. A small yarding of 288 fat sheep sold under particularly good competition and realisations showed an improvement of fully Is a bead on last week’s sale. A small yarding of 78 fat cattle, as compared with 252 last week, sold under steady competition, and last week’s drop was regained for all prime quality cattle. Another yarding of 1220 station cattle came forward. The entry included an outstanding line of. 4j-vr Polled Angus bullocks in forward condition, offered on account of Messrs Watt and Mvers, Kimbolton, which sold under good competition, the top pen realising £9 16s. The balance cf the yarding comprised several pens of 3*-year-oM steers in good condition, and a good proportion of 2j-yr and 18 mouths steers and heifers. Greater interest was laken in the sale, with more buyers present than has boon tho case for some weeks past. There was no improvement in the prices for tho older cattle, but on the other band there was a stronger inquiry for the 18 months steers and this class can be quoted fully 5s a head bettei than last week’s sale. Vendors met the market, and we report practically a tolul clearance in this department. Forty-five honor cows wore offered and prices were on a par with those ruling last week, Fifty-two head of dairy cattle were yarded. A keen sale resulted for all young cows and heifers clcso to profit.
