Sir 'William Firth, chairman of Richard Thoms and Company, has been removed from office by the eon'trol committee, of which Mr Montagu Norman (Governor of the Bank of England) is chairman. The dismissal is believed to l>e the result of a difference of opinion in managerial policy. The company is a steel and tinplate combine with a capital of £18.000,000.
