Far East Co-operation. British and French co-operation in the Far East, particularly between Malaya and French Indo-China, will be further guaranteed by an exchange of liaison officers i between the French Army at Hanoi and the Malaya, Command at Singapore, which has just taken place.—British Official Wireless. Panama Locks. The United States Senate has passed tiie 223,000,000 dollar War Department Civil Functions Bill, which includes 15,000.000 dollars to begin the construction of another set of locks in the Panama Canal which the House of Representatives recently declined (states a Washington message). Boxing in Sydney. The Australian middle-weight champion, Ron Richards, was surprisingly defeated on Thursday by a coloured American, Archie Moore, in a 12-round bout at the Sydney Stadium. Richards’s two eyes were cut and he also received severe punishment. ’The contest was stopped in the tenth round and Moore was awarded a technical ' knock-out.
