FUTURE OF INDIA

MOHAMMEDAN SOLUTION. LAHORE, March 22 Mr M. A. Jinnali, in his presidential address at the annual conference of the Moslem League, which was attended by 100,000 people and was held in the open air, said that the division of India into autonomous national States was the only solution of the country’s problem. A termination of the British regime would result in chaos, whereas his solution would lead to a friendly settlement of the minorities issue. Moslem India could noi accept a constitution resulting from Hindu dominance. A democracy of the kind the Congress Party envisaged would completely destroy what Islam regarded as most precious and would lead to civil war and the raising of private armies. Mr Jinnali invited Mr Gandhi to meet him in an attempt to settle the issue.
