WAR ENDORSED.

BRITISH CO-OPERATIVES.

LONDON, March 24. The Co-operative Party’s aruiual conference overwhelmingly endorsed the statement of the executive declaring that peace could be concluded only with a German Government prepared to restore the independence of the Austrians, Czechs and Poles. It must also be ready to give effective guarantees against aggression and cooperate in building up a League or Federation of Nations guaranteeing the security of the peoples of the world.

An amendment condemning the war as imperialistic, demanding an immediate armistice and summoning a workers’ conference was defeated by a card vote of 1,323,000.
