NINE MEETINGS ON LIST. (By “Spectator.”) With nine meetings Faster racing will start on Saturday. Fixtures arc well distributed throughout, the Dominion, and although racegoers locally will be well catered for at Podding, the major events in other parts of the Dominion will attract considerable attention. Awapuni horses will be in action in Auckland, Christchurch, and Wairarapa as well as at Feilding. Five galloping meetings will be held on Saturday, the Auckland, Feilding, Wairarapa, Riverton and Tuapeka fixtures. I hc ('hrii-tchurcli, Waipukurau, Beaumont and Kumara meetings will start on Monday. The Easier Handicap, the Great Northern Champagne Stakes and tho Croat Northern Oaks will bo the main attractions at. Auckland on Saturday. They have attracted representative fields. Bcaupartir won the Easter Handicap last. year, and will attempt this race again, although his Wellington form was nit. promising. The races may have improved him. however, lint most attention will probably bn given to the chunccis of Golden Sheila, Kathbclla, Arvakur, Black Thread, Beau Rcpairo, Proud Fox and Orclio. Among promising two-year-olds entered in the Champagne Stakes are Lanibourn, Lou Rosa, Nightbeani, Kindergarten and Phaleron.
