MANAWATU MOTORISTS
ASSOCIATION MEETING. GROW ING AIEAIBERSHIP. The committee of the Alanawatu Automobile Association met last evening, the chairman (Air W. 11. Brown) presiding. It was reported that 68 new members had been enrolled, making the total membership 3757. Advice was received from the Foxton Harbour Board that a deputation would be received regarding the Foxton camp site at the next meeting of the board to be held in Palmerston North. ft was’ decided, in view ol the number of accidents at the West Street crossing, to ask the City Council il it would consider painting the words “railway crossing” on signs at each side of the crossing. . Air B. Register, of Palmerston North, was appointed a patrol officer on the recommendation of the service and finance committees. On the motion of Air N. H. Alackic, it was decided to ask the Auckland Automobile Association to make Hugging of roads and highways more complete in time of lloods and wash-outs. Air Alaekie said that while flagging was fairlv good between Tatiinarunui and Tc Kuiti in the recent Hoods, it could have been more efficient and mishaps could have been avoided. It was resolved to draw the attention of the Alanawatu County Council to the unsatisfactory condition of the road between the Kopane School and Rongotea Siding.
