EASTER RUSH
FULL TRAINS RUNNING. EXHIBITION ATTRACTION. Whereas in past years the railway passenger traffic at Easter lias tdiowii a very even distribution, on this- occasion bookings at Palmerston North indicate that Wellington, on account of the Exhibition, is the most popular centre. All trains were carrying heavy complements of passengers to-day and, in the main, excellent running times were being kept. Special trains were running oil all the main routes and the total number operating between. Auckland and Wellington to-day and to-morrow will be sixteen. On all routes the demand for seats was particularly heavy and indications to-day were that this year’s Easter traffic will be among the heaviest recorded 'yet by the department, a large measure of this being accounted lor by the fact that the benzine restrictions are now in operation. Owing to delays on the northern part of the Main Trunk line the Limited express for Wellington was a little over half an hour late in reaching this centre this morning. Train traffic wll be using the Manawatu Gorge "to night for the first time at night since the blockage of tho line by a slip some weeks ago.
