EIGHT FOR JUSTICE
BRITAIN'S WAR AIMS. YIEAV AT HOME. Per Press Association. AVELLINGTON, March 19. “It 'is not true to suggest that- the war aims of Britain and France are imperialistic. The war in reality is a battle of liberation and justice for peoples whoso liberties have been destroyed, and also an effort by the Allies to secure conditions upon which a just peace could be established in Europe and the world,” declared Mr I). R. Grenfell, C.8.E., British Labour M.P., on his arrival to-day. Mr Grenfell is a member of the Parliamentary executive of the British Labour Party and is here to represent the United Kingdom branch of the Empire Parliamentary Association at the Centennial celebrations. In Britain, lie said, the people were facing all their discomforts with fortitude and patience. They were united ill their determination that Hitler was not to dominate Europe and realised fully what was at stake for the nations of Europe and for individual citizens. In Britain the war was regarded as an effort to prevent the further degradation of political conditions and to secure tire removal of the menace of dictatorship which the Germans would establish if they gained military ascendancy. Mr Grenfell was mot on arrival by Hon. P. Fraser. Hon. D. AVilson (Leader of the Legislative Council), and Sir C. M. Bothamley, hon, secretary of the New Zealand branch of the Empire Parliamentary Association.
