GOLF.

PALMERSTON NORTH CLUB. The annual meeting of the Palmerston North Golf Club was held on Monday, when Mr C. Y. Ciochetto presided over a large attendance. The report and balance-sheet, as previously published, were adopted. The appointment of Mr ,1. Forrest, of the Avonside Club, Christchurch, as professional of the club was mentioned by the president. He also referred to the satisfactory financial position, there being an excess of income over expenditure of £164 Ss lOd on the year’s .working. Officers elected are: Patron, the Mayor (Mr A. E. Manslord); president, Mr AIT It. Hopcroft; vicepresidents, Messrs C- A ,T . Ciochetto and J, Selwyn; club captain, Mr K. B. Dawkins; secretary. Mr H. AV. Mullaney; committee. Messrs E. Pink. E. Simpson. W. Aiken. E. W. Pearse. E. AY ils on and D. Tollman; auditor. Mr S. I. McKenzie. It was decided that the Easter tour nament be held on the same lines as last year’s. A recommendation to the committee that the entrance fee to the club be reduced was made. Tributes were paid lo the services given to the club by the retiring president. the secretary (Mr H. AA r . Mul laney), who has hold the office for five years, by Mr D. H. Cook, a retiring member of the committee and a foundation member of the club, and by the club captain (Air K. Dawkins).

BANKERS’ TOURNAMENT.

The annual St. Patrick's Day golf tournament for bankers was held on the Hokowhitu links, which were in first-class order and. the weather being perfect, local and district bankers had an enjoyable day. Before presenting the trophies, Mr I'. G. Major congratulated Mr W. Moffat, secretary of the local guild section, for so ably organising tho tournament, and expressed thanks to. the committee _ of the Manawatu Golf Club lor granting tho use of the links.
